I’ve found that I really only use Siri for two main purposes: setting my alarm at night and checking the weather for the day. It’s nice to be able to fall in bed and with my eyes already closed tell Siri when to wake me up. In the morning, when I stand in front of the closet I don’t ask Siri what the weather will be because I want to know exact degrees, I just need to know whether or not it’s going to rain, and if I should wear a coat, jacket, or t-shirt.
Since that can be broken down into a small number of manageable outcomes I sketched out an idea for a series of LEDs that would be fed information from a weather RSS feed like Weather.com or AccuWeather.com.
I already organize my closet generally by warmth, so all that would be needed is to map that bar of LEDs to lit only a portion of my closet related to the predicted weather for the day. I also hang my umbrella in my closet so an additional LED could be lit at the end if the of the bar and directed towards the umbrella, the greater the chance of rain the brighter the LED is lit.
I’m sure the idea will get transformed slightly as I start to actually test and install it, hopefully in a way in which it might be easier to adapt to different scenarios.
